Have a Hoot with your Brownies and let me show you how to turn them into Owls for your next party.  This super EASY Treat will be a hit with your party guests and of course they are also delicious to eat.

Yesterday I made these Owl Brownies for an after school treat for the kids. My son was having some of his friends over and I wanted to create some fun fall snacks for them. I had seen this Owl Brownie Idea in an old Magazine some time ago and it was on my to do list so I decided it was time to check them off.

I think they turned out very cool and now I am going to show you Step by Step how truly EASY they were to create as I made them for the first time.

Here is what I used to create my Owl Brownies:

  • A Box of Brownie Mix
  • Chocolate Frosting
  • Yellow Lifesaver Candies
  • Candy Corns
  • Red Hot Candies
  • Orange Gumdrop Slices

So I gathered all my goodies. Next I baked my Brownies and let them cool. When making your Brownies you will want them to more Cake like for this project vs. soft and gooey so keep that in mind. Of course you can use any candies you like for these to change the look of your Owl Brownies – have fun with it.

Now watch how EASY these are to assemble…

First cut up your Brownies into Rectangles. Next round the tops of the Brownies using a knife and set pieces aside. Then cut a taper on the sides. My daughter said they looked like coffins and she was right they kinda did.

Now with your Brownie Scraps cut some wings for the your Owl. If they look funny you can shape them by pinching if you need to.

Then using your Chocolate Frosting add a dab on each wing and attach t the top of the Brownie. So far so EASY right?

Then add a dab of frosting to the back of the Lifesavers and stick them on and now your Owl has BIG Eyes.

Next add a dab of frosting to your Candy Corn and stick that on.

Next I took my Orange Gummy Slices and sliced them in 1/2. Then I cut each slice into thirds. I round the top of them for the feet and stuck them sticky side down onto my brownie.

To finish it off I added my Red Hot Candies on the Lifesavers and I had one Yummy looking Owl !!

Now how adorable are they?

The kids loved these and they were the first treats to get eaten. I also had made Monster Cereal Cupcakes for the as well. But Whoooooo does not like a good brownie?

These Owl Brownies are a great addition to an Owl Party Theme which I have seen become very popular lately. Owl Baby Showers are also very popular and you can always change up the colors of these Owl Brownies by frosting them with colored frosting in Blue or Pink to match the theme.

I love Owls myself , they have to be one of the coolest birds alive. Lets hear it for the Owl – Hoot Hoot !!!
