The Party Animal’s Party Peep Spotlight is where I feature and interview other creative Businesses in the Party Industry. These are Party Businesses you may or may not have heard of before. Today my Party Peep Spotlight is on Spaceships and Laser Beams.

Spaceships and Laser Beams is an Etsy store dedicated to selling DIY Printable Party Supplies just for Boys. They’re basically a no princess zone. Yes it is true, finally a place where you can go to find some of the coolest Unique Boys Party Supplies. One of my personal favorites Party Designs they have created is the Alien Invasion Party Theme – I absolutely love this one!!! It is so Unique and so perfect for any little Boy.

So I got to ask my Party Peep Stephanie, the creative one behind all of these Boys DIY Printable Party Supplies, some questions so we can learn a little more about her and Spaceships and Laser Beams.

So lets hear what she had to say with some Party Animal Q&A:

What inspired you to get into the Party World?

When I had my son, I realized how there is so much amazing stuff out there for girls but the selection is very limited for boys. Many moms of little boys still care about design, style and quality. I wanted to have a place that they could go to have a little fun.

Do you have a Best Selling Product or Service? If so what is it?

To those with little boys, it will be no surprise that our Construction Collection is our best seller. I don’t know why it is but little boys love construction vehicles. I can even see it in my own son and he is only 17 months.

Are your Products and Services Location Specific or Nationwide?

As we’re an online shop, we sell to customers anywhere in the world.

Why would someone come to you for their Party Needs? What makes you stand out?

We’re just for boys! You don’t need to wade through lots of pink, frilly stuff to get to get to the boys’ party products. As far as I know were the only shop and only blog dedicated exclusively to boys’ parties.

I’m also really proud that 5% of all of our sales goes to YMCA Strong Kids – to help young boys grown into strong, young men. It is important to remember that not every child will have a lavish party thrown in their honor. We’re doing a little part to ensure that every day is a happy one, not just their birthday.

Share one of your Best Party Memories?

Hands down, it was my son, Sam’s, first birthday last July. He has brought a joy and fulfillment to my life that I even knew could be possible. There’s one exact moment I will cherish forever. It was near the end of the party and someone asked me and my husband for a photo with our son. My husband, Mike, had Sam in his arms and as we were getting our picture taken, Sam leaned over to give me a huge hug. I’m thrilled that this perfect moment was caught forever!

What is your Favorite Party Game?

For Sam’s first birthday we copied a Korean first birthday custom. Basically, there are a tray of items that each represent something and what the child selects foretells their future. Everyone guesses beforehand what the child will pick. I’ve never had the honor of attending a Korean first birthday but everyone at our party really got involved and had a lot of fun with it. (By the way, Sam picked thread first, which represents a long life.)

What is your Favorite Party Theme?

Goodness, I wouldn’t even know where to start to narrow it down. I love every theme we have in our shop. Haha. Definitely something fun and colorful. I like themes to be non-commercial and full of personal touches.

Birthday Cake or Cupcakes?

It might be overkill but I like having both. Cupcakes are fun and easy for kids. But I find a lot of older adults – especially of my grandparent’s generation – prefer a cake.

What is one of your favorite things you like to send home as a Party Favor with the kids or see come home from a Party with yours?

I want favors to be useful. I would rather spend $10 on one nice thing than $10 on 10 useless items. For Sam’s first birthday, as we were celebrating with family, there weren’t a lot of children and they were quite a bit older than him. I got the kids crayon rolls/notebooks from Etsy and they went over really well with both the moms and the kids. Food is always good for adults.
