Thanksgiving Paper Bag Turkey Leg Place Settings
I saw these Paper Bag Turkey Legs on the Fiskars website as part of a Thanksgiving Kids Table Idea. They made me laugh and I knew I had to give them a try for our Thanksgiving Day Table Setting for this year. So I got my daughter to help me create these and I think they turned out really cute – they still make me laugh though.
Funny thing is – we made them for the adults too. I cannot wait to see how they look on everyone’s plates come Thanksgiving. Now no one can argue where they sit -my Mother in Law (who is hosting this year) will decided where all the Turkey Legs go – lol. Now let me show you how EASY these were to make.
Here is what I used to create these Paper Bag Turkey Legs:
- Paper Lunch Bags
- Construction Paper – White or Tan
- Regular Scissors and Scalloped if you have them
- Glue Stick
- Plastic Bags ( I used these to fill my Turkey Legs) Newspaper or Tissue Paper will work too !!
So I gathered up my supplies and my daughter (lol). First I drew out Heart Shapes on my construction paper and cut them out. Then I cut Strips from the construction paper – these are both for the Turkey Leg Bones. I then glued the Heart Shape to the end of the strip. Next I had my daughter write the names on the bags for me. Then with my fancy scissors I cut some of the bag off at the end to give it a fun edge. I then stuffed the bags with more bags (plastic ones) – 1 or 2 will do.
I then gathered the bag below the name and shaped it a bit. After that I stuck in my Bone (Construction Paper) and using the Glue Stick glued in place on both the front and the back.
That is it !!! You can play with the bag and shape it better if you need to as well.
