Thanksgiving Party Games

So you are hosting a Thanksgiving Day Party and need some ways to entertain the kids.  Not a problem, I will share with you some fun Thanksgiving Party  Games you can play that will be fun for everyone.

Now I came across this fun  Pin the Hat on the Turkey Gamewhich is played just like Pin the tail on the Donkey, but instead you want to get the Hat on the Turkey. You can also make your own just by drawing a Turkey and Cutting out some Hats following the look of the picture you see to you right.

This great idea uses a Recycled Milk Jug you turn into a Turkey. This game idea comes from Everythingfamily.net and it is easy to do, looks adorable and is fun. You will want to make your Milk Jug Turkey prior to your gathering and this is how.

Take a used Gallon Milk Jug and make sure to wash it out thoroughly. Then you will want to cut off the top section where the lid attaches so you have a hole. Then you will paint your Milk Jug and also paint on some wings and a Red Gobbler to the handle.

Now glue a pom pom to the top of the handle for the Turkey’s Head add some google eyes and a beak using a triangle cut from a foam sheet or construction paper.  Then you can also make your feathers and attach them to the back and you have your Milk Jug Turkey.

Now to play the game you can either use clothes Pins, Pencils, Small Toys or Balls and have your guests stand over your Turkey and try to drop them and get them into the hole. To make it fair have the kids choose from which height they will have to drop it from.

Just make sure you have Ink and Paper in your printer and you are all set to print up some great games and activities. Also make sure to print enough for all the kids and even some for the adults – I know I like to still play games!!!

Here is a cute game idea that was mentioned on Amazingmoms and it is one that can be played by all – “Thankerchief”
Arrange your party guests in a circle. Pass a “thankerchief” (handkerchief) around the circle, as everyone recites this poem:
Thankerchief, thankerchief, around you go —
Where you’ll stop, nobody knows.
But when you do, someone must say,
What they are thankful for this day.
The player holding the “thankerchief” when the poem ends, must say aloud, one thing for which they are thankful. This continues until everyone has had their turn.
