This Chocolate Cobbler Recipe is for all those Chocolate Lovers out there.  This is such a delicious treat and would be a great addition for any occasion including a Birthday Party. Kids who love Chocolate will love this too and topped with Vanilla Ice Cream seals the deal.

This was our dessert on St. Patrick’s day thanks to my Sista Peep. My hubby cooked up all the Corned Beef, Cabbage and Potatoes and my Sista Peep was in charge of Dessert and she came through in a BIG way with this one. So what was I in charge of? – well good question, I was in charge of eating of course.

The Chocolate Cobbler was served warm and topped with Vanilla Ice Cream to finish it off. It was Chocolaty Sweet, but not over powering. It is cake like, but very moist with a Chocolate Sauce in the pan that you can scoop up and drip over the top. I am not normally a big chocolate fan myself (sorry), but this was perfect. It is also good leftover and reheated according to my husband who finished it off the next night – lol.

So here is the Recipe for this Chocolate Cobbler so you can try this one too, but don’t come back and be mad at me when you are addicted !!!

  • 2 Sticks Butter
  • 1 1/4 Cups Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Cups Self Rising Flour
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla
  • 3/4 Cup Milk

For the Chocolate Layer:

  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 6 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 2 Cups Boiling Water

Preheat your oven to 350

Grab your 9″ x 13″ Glass Baking Dish and melt the 2 Sticks of Butter in the Oven

In a Mixing Bowl mix together the 1 1/4 Cups of Sugar, Flour, Vanilla and Milk. Once the Butter is melted pour the batter over the Butter, but do not stir.

In a separate Bowl mix the Cocoa Powder and remaining Sugar together and sprinkle on top of batter. Do not stir.

Next pour the 2 cups of Boiling Water on top of that (don’t stir) and bake for 30-45 minutes.

Bake until you have a nice golden brown crust.

Serve it warm and top with a nice large scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream !!!

**Note – Your Cobbler will look runny with Chocolate, this is normal and makes for that great sauce to drizzle on top. Sista Peep did say this: TO MAKE IT “THICKERER” I WOULD REDUCE THE WATER TO 1 1/2 CUPS NEXT TIME. I think it was just fine the way it was and there were no other complaints from the rest of the family either. lol**

Sorry I did not take more photos, I was so excited to dig in and only took a photo of what was in my bowl. Once I ate it all I knew I had to share it with you all – sooooo good !!! Sista Peep is so good to us, but does not help at all with my Diet – URGH. I have no self control.
