Angry Birds Birthday Party Theme

If you are planning an Angry Birds Birthday Party and you are looking for ideas then look no further !! I am going to give you tons of inspiration to pull of your Angry Birds Party that will have all the kids in awe.

After creating my son’s iPhone Birthday Party a few months ago and incorporating some fun Angry Birds touches, the reaction I have received due to them has been amazing so I had to create a separate Party Post just for the Angry Birds. Originally when I was creating my son’s Angry Birds Party Decor I had known about the game, but never really played it. Well since then I must confess to being a full fledged Angry Birds Addict and have completed the game. I am patiently waiting the new Angry Bird Rio game to be released – is that wrong? Nah I call it research (lol).

Now lets move on to the Angry Birds Party Planning…… I have so many ideas for this one it is making my head spin – I have to get them out. Get ready for Angry Birds overload!!!

Lets start with your Angry Birds Party Invitations

. I happy to tell you that there are now a nice variety of Angry Birds Invitations available on Ebay that I think look great. They are perfect to get everyone excited about the party for sure.

All of the invitations can be customized with your party information and a lot of the sellers will offer you a Print from Home option – so no excuses for you last minute party planners.

If you want to get fancy you may want to see my 3D iPhone Party Invitations that I made for my son’s party. They are a bit of work, but worth the effort – I have a tutorial on how to make them.

Now for your Angry Birds Party Supplies and being there is nothing official on the market at this time,  I would go with Solid Colored Party Supplies for all of your Paper Goods just like the Angry Birds. Use Red, Baby Blue, Green, Yellow and even Black would work. If your child has a favorite Angry Bird then play off of those colors. You can even use some Angry Birds Stickers

and place some on each of the cups or on the Table Cloth for a fun look.

UPDATEAngry Birds Party Supplies

are now available

You can also create the Angry Birds blocks to use on your table as well. This can be done simply by having lots of Cardboard Boxes in different sizes covered in Brown Kraft Paper for the Wood Blocks, Square Boxes to create some TNT, Blue Paper to create the Glass Blocks, Gray Paper to create the Stone Blocks – So Easy and inexpensive. Or purchase a set of Toy Cardboard Blocks

to use as your base and cover them the same way. They even sell some that have a Wood Grain Finish & Stone Finish that would be perfect and you would not have to cover them at all.

For my son’s party I created these Angry Birds Balloons and they were a huge hit – so you are going to need to create these for your party too. No need to worry because I created FREE Templates you can print out to do just that HERE.  All you do is blow up some balloons and tape on the faces or you can add the faces onto Helium Balloons.  Are they cool or what?

Some of my readers who have used these created bunches of the Blue Angry Birds and the Pigs which looked awesome. I lined mine up across my Entertainment Center, but some of my readers hung them from their ceiling for a different look – Just have fun with them and I did mention they are FREE right? Gotta love FREE.

In addition to the Angry Birds Balloons I also had a banner that I made to hang up for my son’s party that says “APPY Birthday” which is spelled out on iPhones. If your child play Angry Birds on the iPhone than this is a fun banner to have up at the party and again you will find a FREE Printable for it HERE.

So the decorating part is easy – Just keep it simple with touches of color and the Balloons and that is all you need. The fun part of this party is the Games & Activities.

Now lets get into the fun part of this party theme and talk about some fun Angry Birds Party Games & Activities, my Favorite Part !!!

If you are not very familiar with the Angry Birds Game here is a quick description:  You basically use a slingshot to launch the Angry Birds at the Evil Green Pigs located on various structures with the intent of destroying them all and saving the Birds Eggs that were stolen. So that is why those birds are so Angry !!

So for the party this is what I would do. I would purchase each child their very own Toy Slingshot

(not to worry no one will shoot their eye out). They are not very expensive and this will also be part of their party favor they get to take home from the party. Of course make sure you lay out all the rules like – no Shooting towards someones face etc… You know the drill.

I would buy a bunch of Foam balls and some of the Slingshots like the ones pictured to the left come with them in a set which is great.

Then I would set up different games that had to do with Aim which is what the Angry Birds Game is all about. You can line up Empty Soda Cans or Bottles on a Table and one at a time give each guest a turn to see how many they can knock down with a set number of Balls.  Or you can have a bowl set near them filled with balls and set a timer to see how many they can knock down within that time limit.

Another idea comes from one of my readers, The Crump Crew,  who had an Angry Birds Party for her daughter. Using my FREE Angry Birds Balloon Templates she made the balloons and suspended them from the ceiling.  In one area she had a bunch of the Green Pigs and the kids each took turns using their Slingshots and Soft Balls to see if they would be able to hit any of them. And again you can have them take turns and give them points for every one they hit (they will not pop with the soft balls) – it is not as easy as it looks.

Using the Toy Cardboard Blocks

or Cardboard Boxes as I spoke about above you can create yet another fun game for the party. You will also need the Angry Birds Plush to use too, which come in various sizes and in all the Angry Birds. Then to create your Pigs you can print these FREE Printable Paper Angry Birds that has all the Angry Birds and the Pig and creates these cool Paper Angry Birds Cubes. So with all of that you set up the Blocks with a few of the Paper Pigs within them and have the kids toss the Angry Birds at it and see if they can knock down the blocks and the Pigs. This would be so much fun for the kids.

You can also add in some of the Official Angry Birds Games to the party festivities too. Coming in June is the Angry Birds Knock on Wood Board Game. There is also a Angry Birds Magnetic Dart Game available now and also coming soon there will be the Angry Birds Catapult Slingshot Toy.  I am sure there will be others along the way as well – so I will be on the look out and keep you updated.

How about adding an Angry Birds Pinata? Again there are no official Pinatas on the market, but that is ok because you can make one. That is what one of my readers did to create an Angry Birds Pig Pinata, the same reader who hung all the balloons. All she did was take a Basketball Pinata

and covered it in green crepe paper and she then used my balloon template for the Pig Face and added it on. Is that genius or what?

But if you do not feel like doing a little work I have found that Etsy Seller Whack Pinateria sells them. You can see the one they have made of the White Bird pictured to the right. They make all kinds of custom pinatas and would be happy to do any of the Angry Birds or Pig and all you need to do is ask.

There work is so amazing that you may not even want to bust it open and that is ok cause they would make for some great Party Decor. Oh how I love creative people !! Don’t you?

Check this out – Go Big with this Giant Angry Birds Pinata I just reviewed here: Angry Birds Pinata from PinataCasa Review. This Pinata is 2 Feet x 2 Feet and will hold Approx. 5 pounds of Candy and Goodies inside. In addition to the Green Pig you see my daughter holding they also have the Red Angry Bird and can custom make any of the others up for you as well.

I gave this Pinata to my son who now has it in his room as part of his Decor – it was just so cool that we did not have the heart to smash it and I must say it looks awesome sitting on top of his TV. So Pinatas are lost of fun for decorating too ya know !!

Here is another easy one I came up with: Pin the Face on the Angry Bird. All you need to do is purchase an Angry Birds Poster

and then using an exacto knife cut out the Red Birds Face. Take that face and photo copy it for however many kids you have coming to the party. Add some double stick tape to the back and play as you would Pin the Tail on the Donkey. You also even Draw one of Angry Birds Shapes on Posterboard and use my Balloon Template Faces as your pieces too. Fun, Easy and Inexpensive.

Send the kids on a Golden Egg Hunt. Just take some Yellow Plastic Easter Eggs and hide them in your yard or home and have the kids search for them. You can have prizes in them or even numbered papers inside and whomever has the highest total when added wins a big prize etc…

This way it does not matter how many one collects, but the numbers inside will determine the prize winner and makes it fair to all.

So now that you have all the ideas for you Angry Birds Party Games lets talk about some Angry Birds Party Activities/Crafts.

Check out some of these great Angry Birds Craft Ideas the kids can do at the party.

When it comes to your Angry Birds Birthday Cakes, Cupcakes & Cookies there are lots of amazing ideas that have been created out there and I have dedicated an entire post to them HERE that is full of inspiration. But if you are not very into Decorating  and are looking for some easy Ideas I have those too. I am a Big Fan of Cupcakes at parties so I am going to share with you a couple of Easy ideas for those right here.

For my son’s iPhone Party I made these iPhone App Cupcakes that were topped with Fondant iPhone Apps. Now I did not make the Fondant Apps, but had them made for me by Two Sugar Babies an Etsy seller who does amazing fondant work.

It had all of my son’s favorite iPhone Apps including the Angry Birds App, but if your child does not play on the iPhone that is Ok because they can make any Toppers you would like. So if you just want the Angry Birds that is not a problem and they were very tasty if I may add that and the kids loved them. Just stick them on top of your frosted Cupcakes and you are good to go – so EASY.

Or for an ever quicker idea you can print my FREE Angry Birds Cupcake Toppers (I made them just for you – nice right? I think so). All you need to do is Print them out on Cardstock, Cut and attach a Toothpick or Craft Stick to the back and place into your frosted cupcakes. There are 12 different designs and I did mention they were FREE right?

The kids will love them and they are quick and EASY to make – Just perfect !!

Time to talk Angry Birds Party Favors and there are so many great ideas you can do – so I am going to tell you about some of them to get your creative juices flowing.

One of my readers, Loren, sent me photos from her nephew’s Angry Birds Party and shared with me another useful way to use my Angry Birds Balloon Templates. She created Angry Birds Party Favor Bags – How cool is that? Not only is that cool, but it is inexpensive and so EASY to do. All you need to do is purchase some Colored Lunch Bags Cost is maybe $.25ea and the templates are FREE. She had them lined up on the table for an additional decoration along with some Giant Yellow Eggs (Golden Eggs) she found at Hobby Lobby.

Now here are some ideas on what to fill up those Goodie Bags with. For my son’s party I sent the kids each home with one of these Chocolate Covered Angry Birds Rice Kripsy Treats that are available through my main website. Each one is handmade to order and they are HUGE in size weighing in at 3-4 ounces each. They also come individually wrapped and on a stick. I love sending the kids home with edible party favors and I think they really like that too cause their eyes lit up when they saw these.

You could also stick in some Yellow Plastic Eggs (Golden Eggs) with some of the Angry Birds Silly Bandz in it or other fun surprises. I find that Ebay has a great selection of Angry Birds Merchandise such as Necklaces, Charms, Stickers, Buttons etc… You just have to look and you can find some great deals for the Goodie Bags. Etsy is another great place to find some neat stuff as well.

Remember if you are doing the games with the slingshots they will also become part of the Party Favors as well, so do not forget that.

How about adding in an Edible Nest with Jelly Bean Eggs? And guess what it comes pre-made by Wilton. The nest is made of Royal Icing and the Jelly Beans are just Jelly Beans. This would be great in the favor bag and yummy too !!

You could also add in some FREE Angry Birds Coloring Pages and even the FREE Printable Angry Birds Paper Crafts the kids can put together at home. BY using the FREE Printables it keeps your cost down and give the kids some fun things they can do at home after the party. You can even send them home with some colored Balloons and print out the Balloon Templates (above) and they can create their own Balloons at home as well.  So many ideas. Just be creative and have fun with it !!!

NEWS FLASH – Just In

Officially Licensed Angry Birds Costumes are now available – How great would it be to have all the Angry Birds Characters arrive at the Party? The kids would go Crazy !!!

Well that concludes my Angry Birds Birthday Party Theme and I hope I have inspired you with lots of ideas for your party. If you have any additional ideas you think I should add on let me know and if you have photos to share from your Angry Birds Party I would love to see them to share with my readers so Bring them On !!!

Wow! Thank you so much! This is great and really helpful as I am preparing for my son’s 7th birthday party this month. The party theme is Angry Birds and this website is just 1 stop place for me to get some ideas for the party. By the way, I love your Angry Bird Birthday Party banner. I’m going to use that for the envelope for the invitation, if you don’t mind. I got the idea for the invitation from your iPhone Appy Birthday banner. I am trying my best to document everything I do for this party but honestly, time is not on my side as I’m doing all the preps by myself. Hopefully, after the party, I will have more time to put this in my blog. I have started the story with the Pinata making.

  30. Leanne says:

WE are doing a life size angry birds game at my twins 13 B-day party. I took a truck cargo net and stretched it between two trees with big bungee cords. Then we painted kickballs to look like the birds and beach balls to look like the pigs. WE made a pyramid of boxes for the pigs to sit on, then sent the bird flying at them by loading them into the net and stretcthing it far back, then letting go… AWESOME!!!

  31. Teresa says:

OMG!! I am not crafty but I was trying my hardest to make my son’s 10th bday party special and he LOVED the balloons! Even though I only printed a few in color they were still a huge hit with all the kids and my son was so happy when we were working on them. A little mommy and me time on top of the cute balloons!!
